It was accidentally intalled upside down by council workers who apparently weren’t paying very close attention. A spokesman for the council apologized, saying “a genuine error was made by staff.” It has since been fixed. [bbcnews / arbroath.] In very strange co-incidences of the day, I actually spent a fair bit of time in Chadderton when I was in my v early 20’s (some of it locked in a house due to an ex girlfriend not wanting me to go back to Newcastle to watch them play Chelsea on a Bank Holiday Monday, but I digress).
